The Annual Concert is the year-end highlight of the Wah Yan College, Kowloon Music Association. It is where every Wah Yan musician gets the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labour by sharing music with the audience.
The theme for the Annual Concert 2026 is “Inizio”, which translates to “beginning” in Italian, meaning the commencement of phase, event or journey. Likewise, in the world of music, the most powerful moment is the silence before the first note and before the beginning of a performance, marking the boundary between preparation and performance. Through this concert, we hope to showcase the growth of resilience, teamwork and emotional intelligence of our members.
“Inizio” is more than just a date on the calendar for our members. It represents a “commencement of phase”, which signals the shift from the private repetitive preparation, the sincere dedication of rehearsals, to performing publically showcasing their transformative energy to the concert hall. Additionally, it embodies the “commencement of an event” that marks a significant moment while celebrating Wah Yan's 50th Music Association. Most importantly, it symbolizes the “commencement of a journey” which conveys a lifelong adventure of artistic discovery that continues even after the final curtain falls.
Our concert revolves around a journey, mixing emotional episodes of classic tradition, blending Western and Chinese music, choral pieces, and pop music. At the end of the road, upholding true enlightenment and paradise as our musicians enter a new beginning of their musical chapter.
Behind every melody are countless hours of unseen effort. We believe that our musicians can truly embrace their talents and shine on stage so that they can leap towards a new beginning in their musical journeys.
